The shepherds\u2019 argument to this would be that the nymph does not in fact know that by living with him and having premarital sex would not allow them to have a more blissful life. Lust is one of the biggest 7 deadly sin. It was written inside of the poem basically that the shepherd is just lusting after the nymph.
